Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2, 2026
LiveResults ("we", "our", or "the service") is committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining complete transparency regarding data handling. This document details how information is processed when you access our website, configure your live overlays, or utilize our Server-Sent Events (SSE) data streams.
1. Privacy by Design
LiveResults is engineered from the ground up to minimize data collection. You can generate custom OBS browser source links, select leagues, filter teams, and display live scoreboards without creating an account or providing any personal identity information. We do not sell, rent, or monetize your data.
2. Information We Process
- Transient Server Telemetry & Logs: When connecting to our HTTP and SSE endpoints, technical connection metadata (including incoming IP address, browser user-agent header, requested URL path, and timestamp) is temporarily held in memory for request routing, DDoS mitigation, rate-limiting, and server telemetry. These operational logs are ephemeral and automatically rotated.
- Local Configuration Preferences: Your selected visual theme, audio mute toggle, league selections, and layout styles are stored locally in your browser via HTML5
localStorage. This data remains on your machine and is never transmitted to advertising networks. - Direct Communications: If you contact us via email or Twitter/X for technical assistance or to join the early alpha tester program, we use your contact address solely to respond to your communication.
3. Third-Party Services and APIs
- Sports Data Feeds: Live scores and match event data are retrieved directly from public ESPN feeds by the LiveResults backend server. The client overlay communicates solely with your self-hosted or provided LiveResults server; your personal IP is never forwarded to external third-party data providers.
- Google Fonts: Web fonts (Inter and Outfit) are retrieved securely via HTTPS to provide consistent typography across broadcast displays.
4. User Rights under GDPR and International Laws
If you reside in the European Economic Area (EEA), the UK, Switzerland, or California (CCPA), you benefit from statutory privacy rights, including:
- The right to access and obtain information on any personal data stored.
- The right to rectification or erasure of personal information.
- The right to restrict or object to data processing.
Because our service operates without persistent user accounts or tracking cookies, simply clearing your browser cache and local storage deletes all locally persisted configurations.
5. Security
We employ robust industry security practices, including automated HTTPS/TLS encryption, reverse proxy security headers (X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options), and hardened firewall policies (UFW) to protect against unauthorized access.
